Parker använder både kolfiber och kevlar o skrov och däck på frågan om varför fick jag följande svar:
We actually use a bi-directional weave which is 80% carbon and 20% kevlar, so it is throughout the boat. The reason being is that carbon is extremely stiff, but does not like impact, kevlar is the reverse, so if you mix the two together you get a very strong, stiff, but impact resistant hull. Most de-laminations, bulkheads splitting etc are caused by continual impacts around these areas, and pure carbon does not protect the boat from these loads. Throw kevlar in and you now have impact resistance being taken by the kevlar and dispersed around the hull reducing the stress on the boat.
